Globe Telecom, a leading telecommunications company in the Philippines with more than 21 million mobile subscribers, will bring the much awaited iPhone 3G to the Philippines. Apple iPhone 3G debuts in more than 20 countries including the United States today, July 11. But the Philippines is not included among the list. Rather, Apple iPhone 3G will be available in the country later this year. There were no given details on the pricing or the packages yet though it will be available to Globe’s postpaid and prepaid subscribers in the Philippines. iPhone will be available at Globe Telecom locations across the country

Since there were no specific dates as to when this will be launched in the country, customers become more curious and eager to have the iPhone 3G experience. People are very interested, and some even crave to have it. Why?

With fast 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more features at your fingertips. And like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and a desktop-class web browser. iPhone 3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do — again.

iPhone 3G combines all the revolutionary features of iPhone with 3G networking that is twice as fast* as the first generation iPhone, built-in GPS for expanded location based mobile services, and iPhone 2.0 software which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs the hundreds of third party applications already built with the recently released iPhone SDK.

So who wouldn't want that?? It's a heck of a gadget! I think the only issue left here would be the budget. . . But cellphones have been so out of reach with most Filipinos when it was first introduced here. Now it has become a sort of household commodity already. The Apple iPhone 3G will surely hit and will soon become a common gadget for Filipinos just like the iPods, MP3 players, and cellphones.
