The nomination for the New 7 Wonders of Nature is still going until December 31, 2008. The Philippines has 4 nominees and all have made it to the top 10 so far:
As of 18-JUL-2008 04:00 GMT, the Tubbataha Reef, Chocolate Hills, Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, Mayon Volcano ranks 4th, 5th, 7th, and 9th respectively.
Our anticipation wouldn't end there yet because we're on the first stage yet. Only the top 21 candidates will move on to the next stage which will be announced in January 2009. Voting for the final New 7 Wonders of Nature will continue throughout 2009-2010 and the declaration of the New 7 Wonders of Nature will be in summer of 2010.
Having our wonders to have reach their current spots seems a good achievement, but don't get too excited and secure. The online voting has a long way to go and anything can happen. So Filipinos and non-Filipinos as well, let us continue to vote and spread the word to gain more votes for our wonders.
